DIYSEO: Local Tasks are New and Improved

Another key piece in our most recent site release is the expansion of our Local tasks and curriculum. Many search engines have significantly increased the visibility of their local listings (an example of Google’s listing is below), and we feel our new curriculum will provide a clear path for small businesses to get to the top of these local rankings.

In addition, the Local tasks are now featured in two separate sections on our site. The first is Basic Local SEO, which was added to our SEO Grade School level. Basic Local SEO focuses on claiming your profile on the largest local search engines and directories. We strongly recommend every small business that has a local target market to claim their profiles on the major engines as soon as possible.

The second section is Advanced Local SEO which is in SEO College. This section is focused around changes you can make to your website to help your site rank for local keywords as well as some additional optimization of your local listings.
