INFOGRAPHIC: The Importance of Local SEO for SMBs
Posted November 11, 2010 by DIYSEO Team (3 comments)
Recently, we came across a great study from TMP Directional Marketing and 15Miles that describes the importance of local search strategy for small businesses. If small businesses overlook this influential marketing component, they could miss a crucial segment of their targeted customers rather than gain nearby, untouched customers from competitors that don’t participate in local search.
Last week, Google rolled out significant changes to how it presents local search results. Google’s local focus shows how important it is for businesses to optimize on local search queries. Companies should either leverage solutions like DIYSEO to help with local optimization or find support through any other SEO solutions. We really feel it’s that important.
We’d love to hear from you! What strategies does your small business use to target local customers? How do you think Google’s new local roll-out will impact how your business is found in search results?

Up until I used the DIYSEO LOCAL SEO my site was not even found locally. I was word of mouth and that was OK. Now I hope for a lot more business as I am easily found on the internet locally. Nice Job.

I question whether or not people are still really using the internet yellow pages. Honestly we have customers that haven’t seen any results and are spending a ton with them, plus we have analytics installed on all sites so we really see where the traffic is coming from. I’m thinking this has changed drastically from even September of last year. This industry is extremely fast moving.

I really enjoyed INFOGRAPHIC: The Importance of Local SEO for SMBs – DIYSEO. In general, the earlier (or higher within the page), and more frequently a website appears in the search engine results list, the more visitors it’ll receive from the search engine’s users.
