Small Business Marketing & SEO for SMBs: This Stuff Really Works!

Here at DIYSEO we recently put together a list of our “Top Performers” – the companies getting the best traction with the software. In pulling together the list and digging in to the numbers we realized that DIYSEO users are seeing a tremendous amount of success in their SEO efforts. We decided to share the data in the press release below, partly to brag about the effectiveness of the software and what a great job our customers have been doing in leveraging it to generate improved search rankings, and partly because we think it’s a very interesting data point in a more general shift that’s occurring amongst small businesses. SMBs are moving more and more attention to SEO and other inbound marketing efforts, the attention of software companies and venture capital firms is following that increased attention and spend, and ultimately improved results and more business are following on as well. Yesterday we posted a list of the best small business marketing blogs, and in compiling that list while looking at these numbers it’s obvious that there is a lot of great thought and activity within the SMB space about how to drive more customers via online, inbound marketing efforts.

Take a look at some of the details below, and of course if you’re interested in learning more about the software we offer a free trial.

Chicago, ILSEO Software company DIYSEO (http://www.diyseo.com) announced today that 80% of the most active customers who use the software for over 90 days enjoy top 30 rankings on core keywords, with 63% generating top five rankings on keywords they are targeting.

This announcement comes on the heels of a recent investment of over $30 million by Google Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and SalesForce.com in Hubspot, a marketing automation software company aimed to help small and medium sized businesses. Venture capital investments in SEO focused companies such as Hubspot, SEO Moz, BrightEdge, Conductor, and DIYSEO have increased significantly over the last two years in both frequency and the size of the investments. These figures released by DIYSEO suggest the investments are paying dividends for end users.

DIYSEO CEO Dan Olson said “It’s incredibly gratifying to see small businesses get real results from SEO. Its proof that SEO can not only be affordable and accessible to small businesses but it can also produce results for them.  We feel this is just the beginning of a fundamental shift in SEO economics and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

In addition to offering a simple, customized step-by-step plan to help small businesses improve their rankings in search engines, DIYSEO also offers tools to help them monitor their progress, and provides free access to SEO experts to answer specific questions about SEO best practices. Olson credits this approach with making SEO low cost and low effort – the two biggest marketing challenges for small businesses.  “The fact that 80 percent of our most active user base is seeing tangible improvements and great exposure on search engines is proof that our approach is not only low cost and low effort but also produces results.” ”
